Pr0Active PREVENTION My Dream is for humans to put as much thought and energy into raising a dog as they do into having a human baby, dogs don't happen to you by accident... As a matter of fact if you are reading this prior to adopting a dog you are part of the 2% of our society that are planning ahead. Introducing... Puppy Lamaz Imagine a young shark tooth puppy loving and trusting you implicitly, because you don’t have to man handle them, confront them, correct them, or get mad at pup for anything. A dog that has never been confronted or corrected is a dog without problem behaviors. Contrary to the billboards, everyone does not need a pet. If you are considering bringing a young pup or adopted dog into your experience, I will consult with you to discover if this is the best choice for you and your lifestyle. Once decided to move forward I would come to your home prior to you actually bringing the dog home to set you and your dog up for success.. We will walk through your home and property, discuss your goals and expectations. I will give you different options of setting your home and yard up to prevent behaviors that are undesirable from becoming a challenge. Like we do when planning to bring home a human baby or foster child. Trying to live in a house with a puppy is the number one cause of problem behavior. It is just plain not fair to put a puppy into a situation they are not mature enough to handle. It’s not right to expect them to act in any other way but like a complete chomping, ripping, jumping machine. I never let my babies play with knives but as adolescents they chop like chefs. I apply the same principle to the puppy. It really does amaze me that people think a puppy somehow suffers from not living in an environment they clearly can not handle. Many people end up feeling frustrated, angry, and guilty. As they adore their pups beyond comprehension. I believe we all have a lot to learn by exploring the feelings we have about having a puppy be our plush toy, by needing to cuddle it, by thinking it needs to be with us all the time. Dogs are in our lives to help us see ourselves better, what better place to start? Call or e-mail Gina to set up an appointment 503-349-3088
